HOTV - Green Day

Green Day

I have been a fan of Green Day since my early teens, and the joys of their music has stayed with me every since. Green Day as a band have grown so much over their career, especially during the release of 'Dookie', and most recently 'American Idiot'. I had the great pleasure of going to see the 'American Idiot' tour at the MEN Arena on 28th January 2006 which was absolutely awesome.

As a bit of background for the band: Green Day is a California-based band, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar), Mike Dirnt (born Michael Pritchard; bass, backing vocals), and Tré Cool (born Frank Edwin Wright III; drums, percussion, backing vocals). Since their sixth album, Warning, the band has included close friend Jason White as a back-up guitarist. Green Day were formed in 1986, and have been going strong ever since.

My favourite Green Day albums are 'Dookie', 'Nimrod', and 'Shenanigans'. It was great to be able to purchase 'Bullet In A Bible' which contains a DVD of the 'American Idiot' tour from Milton Keynes, however I think I would have preferred just a straight run through of the show, and all the talking and comments afterwards rather than mingled in with the live show.
